Website Updates

Please note that there have been small changes made to the “Contact Information for Each Centre” document due to a PI and abstractor change. As well, a French version of the Data Abstractor’s Manual is now available for download.

SCREEN-ROP Study Launch

Happy New Year! As it is now January 2012, data collection for the SCREEN-ROP Study will be beginning shortly. We do not anticipate much data collection occurring until the end of January as many centres have noted that children born in early 2012 will not be enrolled into ROP screening until late January/early February. We ask that all PIs please keep Kaitlyn updated on the status of their REB and subgrant agreements so that data collection can occur at their centre as soon as possible.

We have been informed that the national CNN application update with the new SCREEN-ROP screen will occur Monday, January 16th, 2012.  Please note that the screen has been adjusted from the screen-shot that is in the data abstractor manual as the right and left eye exam fields have been split up to avoid horizontal scrolling.  Please review the updated manual in the Abstractor section to see the updated screen shot. (Note: no other changes to the manual have been made).

By now, abstractors should have received their study package in the mail with the abstractor manual and SCREEN-ROP poster. If you have not received your package, please notify Kaitlyn (whelank@mcmaster.ca). If you have not sent her your mailing address, please do so as soon as possible. As well, if you have not sent your data collection verification form please do so as soon as possible.

Lastly, please note that there has been a small change to the list of PIs and abstractors. The latest list can be found on the website under the abstractors and ROP Forum section.

We look forward to the launch of the SCREEN-ROP Study and working with all of the centres over the next two years!
